Costanza is a charming 68 sqm two-level apartment located in the heart of Florence’s historic centre on Via del Castellaccio, just a short walk from the Duomo and the city’s main landmarks.
It is on the 5th floor without elevator (86 steps) and accommodates up to 4 guests. The apartment features one double bedroom, a bathroom with bathtub, a living area with dining space and equipped kitchen.
The mezzanine level includes two single beds (90 cm), comfortably accommodating two additional guests. Its highlight is the private terrace, accessible from the mezzanine, perfect for relaxing at sunset while enjoying views over Florence’s rooftops.

The apartment is located within the Duomo district in Florence’s historic city centre. The Duomo area constitutes the very heart of Florence and the area takes its name from Brunelleschi’s magnificent dome on the wonderful Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral. The Duomo neighbourhood offers an array of beautiful historical buildings and superb piazzas including the Mercato di San Lorenzo, the Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Repubblica, famous for its attractive cafes, patisserie shops, live music, street performers, and caricature artists. Furthermore, the area is surrounded by the city’s main cultural attractions, notably Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, the Bargello Palace, and Casa Buonarroti, the former home of Michelangelo, not to mention the Uffizi Gallery and the museum dedicated to the city’s cathedral “Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.” The area also has much to offer in terms of fine dining and exclusive boutique shopping. The top Italian fashion houses are located along Via Tornabuoni, Via Calzaiuoli, and Via del Corso and include the famous names of Salvatore Ferragamo, Armani, Versace, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany & Co. and many more. For those choosing an apartment in this area, the Duomo quarter also offers several delicatessens otherwise known as “alimentari,” supermarkets, laundromats, and gift shops as well as being adequately served by local public transportation.
Florence city centre is a ZTL zone which means a “limited traffic zone” and therefore special rules apply to when you can enter this area. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL zone so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and wish to drive around and park, then you will need to pay special attention to the road signs, CCTV cameras and access cameras (they will show either a red/green light) in order to avoid receiving fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL zone by car to reach their apartment are advised to contact a private garage. Thanks to the private garage you will obtain a temporary access permit. Upon arrival at the garage, guests must specify they need access for the ZTL and the garage will then note the vehicle’s number plate and forward it to the appropriate police headquarters.

Loved the position, the wonderful view and everything worked well in the apartment. We were welcomed very happily. This is our second four week stay here. Florence is very special and this is the perfect place to enjoy it in.

We had a fantastic long weekend in Florence, staying at a rental that couldn’t have been more perfect. Just a few blocks from the cathedral, it offered a peaceful retreat away from the busier streets. While there are some stairs to climb, the beautiful views make it absolutely worth it.
