This ancient polder of the AA river delta was drained and cultivated by the monks of the abbey of St-Omer, more than 1000 years ago.
The territory is crisscrossed with canals, watergangs and ditches which were created to drain the land. The 2 gîtes of Anne-France and Georges are located at the crossroads of 2 watergangs, in an old Flemish farm from 1764.
They practice mixed farming there: wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, textile flax and canned peas.
The town is crossed by three fish canals where fishing is authorized. The main North Sea beaches are 10km away.

Ce gîte est très bien aménagé et relativement confortable. Il est situé en zone rurale. Cela lui confère un calme absolu. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Le propriétaire est accueillant et de bons conseils sur les activités à faire dans les environs. À recommander.

Maison proche du village ( resto boucherie, boulangerie, bar tabac, friterie le vendredim. Tous ça au calme . sauf pour ceux qui n'aime pas le chant des oiseaux.le cri du faisant qui vient vous saluer. Et de temps en temps le meuglement des vaches. Un plus abrit vehicule voilà donc je recommande pour les amoureux de la nature .

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable aussi bien dans ce gîte qu'au sein de cette région ensoleillée pour l'occasion.Gîte confortable, bien équipé et au calme.Un voisin inattendu : joli faisan qui avait élu domicile dans le petit champ jouxtant le gîte...
